Privacy Policy – All British Hills in the UK (BaggedIt)

All British Hills in the UK (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app, how it is used, and how you can delete it.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

Your hill data, climb history, adventures, routes and photos are stored locally on your device. You can use the App fully without creating an account, and without an account none of this content leaves your device.

2. Location

The App uses your device's precise location to show your position on the map, to record hiking tracks (including in the background while a recording is active, if you grant background location permission), and to find hills near you or near a planned route.

• Recorded tracks are stored locally on your device.
• When you plan a route, the waypoints you place are sent to our routing server to calculate a walking route. They are not stored or linked to you.
• Map tiles are provided by Mapbox, which receives the map area you are viewing. See Mapbox's privacy policy.

3. Optional Account, Cloud Backup and Community Sharing

You can optionally sign in with your Google or Apple account to back up your data to the cloud and to share routes with the community. If you sign in, we collect and store:

• Your email address and name, as provided by Google or Apple sign-in
• An account identifier (user ID)
• Your backup: hills climbed, adventures, routes, stories and photos you have added to them
• Any routes you choose to share with the community

Backups are private to your account. Routes you share with the community are visible to other users of the App. Account data and backups are stored using Google Firebase. See Firebase's privacy documentation.

4. Analytics and Crash Reporting

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to fix crashes. These services collect:

• Device and app-instance identifiers
• App interaction events (for example, which screens are used)
• Crash logs and diagnostic information

5. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect:

• Device identifiers, including the advertising ID
• Approximate location (derived from IP address)
• Ad interaction data

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Data on your device can be deleted at any time by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the App.

If you created an account, you can permanently delete it — together with your cloud backup and anything you shared with the community — at any time. See How to delete your account.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children. It is suitable for general audiences.

8. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated if the app changes. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
